How to Find God in Your Everyday Life

If you are looking for God in your everyday life, it's going to be your own spiritual journey that will take you there. Christian spirituality is a key factor in developing a relationship with God. It's an individual journey because God means many different things to many different people. There are endless ways in which He can make his presence known to you and it happens each day if you have the tools to find Him. Once you find those tools you will be able to start seeing Him everywhere you. So whether you feel that there is a lack of God in your life or you just want to make your relationship stronger with Him, there are tools that will help you do either.

One thing you should try doing is to pray every morning when you get up. This is before you hop in the shower or even have that first cup of coffee. This is a wonderful way in which you can remind yourself to seek Him out in your daily life and it sets a good positive tone on your day. You can ask Him for guidance or help during your day or thank Him for all that He has done for you. Or, you can just talk to him like you would any friend.

Make sure to pay close attention to things around you as you go about your busy day. Deliberately look for signs and pieces of evidence of God around you. This could be the beauty of nature where you might feel Him or it might be a song you hear on the radio as you are driving to work. It could simply be the sound of a child laughing or a smile you get from a stranger. Take note of all these things and you will soon understand that He is present in all of this.

Another good thing to do is to keep a journal and make sure to write down each time you feel you have noticed God around you in this world. This is a good way for you to show evidence of your personal encounters with Him. This is a great thing to have when you are being challenged and then you can take your journal and refer back to it ti remind you that God is standing there by your side.

It's also a good thing to try your best to take away the focus on yourself and focus more on others around you. When you reach out a helping hand to help someone else you will immediately feel the presence of God. When you act in a selfless manner it will immediately take the focus off of your life as well as all of your needs and fears.

Always keep your faith. Never let it go. The more you decide to believe and the more that you seek God out on your own, the more that you will be able to really see Him all around you in everything that you do. If you have discovered that going to church helps you see Him more often then you might want to attend church more than once a week. You also need to surround yourself with people who are also seeking a relationship with God for it's said “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20 If you share your faith with others you will start to find God far more often.
